Client Requirement
The client wanted to run a competitive search including the internal candidate to ensure to all stakeholders that the company had secured the very best CEO to take the business forward. The CEO must have an established general management skillset, be comfortable with scale & be able to lead a large organisation with dynamism & energy
Our Approach & Methodology
We conducted an extensive search across UK food retail & also at international convenience & interviewed extensively to produce a strong & diverse shortlist. The internal candidate was fully integrated in the process and assessed alongside the external talent to effectively benchmark
Outcome
On balance the Board decided the internal candidate was best placed to lead the business going forward. However it was clear the Board decision was reinforced by seeing a field of credible candidates all of whom could readily have filled the role
