Client requirement

Galliford Try identified internal turnover as a key challenge, particularly where colleagues could not clearly see future career opportunities within the organisation. The business wanted to reduce avoidable attrition by creating clearer pathways for progression, movement and development, helping people recognise the breadth of opportunity available without needing to leave the organisation to progress.

Our approach

Miles Advisory partnered with Galliford Try to design and launch an internal mobility programme called Explore.

The programme was built around three core principles:

  • Visibility – helping colleagues understand the full range of roles, projects and career paths available across the business

  • Opportunity – creating practical routes for movement, development and progression

  • Retention – enabling people to grow their careers within Galliford Try rather than outside it

We worked closely with the business to shape a programme that felt accessible, engaging and relevant to different parts of the organisation, aligning internal talent movement with broader people and workforce strategies.
