Our client was a major player in the global crop protection products market, a family-owned multibillion-dollar business that had long relied on its market access, post patent competitive pricing and solutions as well as a long-earned reputation for delivering value to growers globally. Due to the incumbent leader being attracted away to take on a CEO role, the company decided that they needed a transformative president who is going to steer the key home market through some challenging years of transformation and a sustained period of new product introduction.
Client Requirement
The client specifically requested a top tier true P&L leader who had both experienced successful growth and transformative change whilst maintaining top tier service level and execution for the key customer market, the candidate would need to be known and credible to the grower/channel. This is all about reputation and ability to deliver whilst also adding huge cultural value to lead the already strong and cohesive, well tenured leadership team, the employees both in HQ and across the nation (all functions) and also a large modern production facility, so a true P&L visionary leader.
Our Approach & Methodology
For this mandate we were to identify and engage targets from the crop protection, crop inputs and seed markets, leaders who knew what it takes to create innovative solutions to growers and who could lead a well-placed organisation through subtle changes whilst introducing new products and solutions. It required someone who could augment, to add a higher level of engagement with the internal and external customers.
Outcome
We scoured and mapped the whole competitive space, additionally the customer space and we found and successfully engaged one of the top and well referenced leaders available who also saw that this opportunity to collaborate was win win and the market and client will benefit hugely as a result.
