Building out an IT Leadership Team

Beyond the appointment of a CIO there was the requirement to build a tech leadership team to support an IT transformation agenda after years of underinvestment.

Client profile
We were approached by a major travel business whose IT & technology was severely under-performing and impacting the business performance after years of underinvestment.
This had impacted on the company’s reputation and investor confidence – an urgent fix was required.

Client requirement
The client needed to appoint a Group CIO who could bring confidence to the broad group of stakeholders both internal and external and with the expertise and credibility to lead a tech transformation.
Beyond the appointment of a CIO there was the requirement to build a tech leadership team to support the transformation agenda.

Our approach and strategy
We worked with a client initially to develop a strategic narrative that was both authentic and brought to life the quality of the opportunity. Miles Advisory then led a search into FTSE 100 for tech leaders who had the requisite transformation expertise.

Outcome
Miles Advisory successfully helped the client to appoint a high profile Group CIO, a Global CISCO, Head of Software Engineering, an Interim Chief of Staff and HR Lead who together planned and delivered a tech transformation.
